This calculated column uses a SharePoint formula to return Pass or Fail based on whether a score meets the passing threshold. Because it lives in a calculated column, SharePoint fills the value in for every item automatically - no custom development and nothing for your users to type.

How It Works

  • What it does: Turns a Score into a Pass or Fail using a 70 threshold.
  • What you get: Pass at 70 or above, Fail below 70.
  • If a value is missing: If Score is blank it reads as 0, so the item shows Fail.

How to Apply the Formula

  1. Add a column, choose More…, then select Calculated (calculation based on other columns)
  2. Set the data type returned from this formula to Single line of text
  3. Paste the formula below into the Formula box
  4. Click OK to create the column
