Winery (Intranet)

The Winery Intranet is an out-of-the-box SharePoint intranet designed for wineries and vineyard estates - vineyard, cellar, tasting room, hospitality, and office teams - to stay connected from the vines to the tasting room. Built with standard SharePoint web parts (News, Events, Image, Image Gallery, and Text), a custom theme, and custom fonts, it uses no custom code and no third-party tools. The homepage brings together a harvest alert ribbon, links to tasting room and wine club tools, winery news, events, a wine of the month, and an employee of the month - giving every team one place to start the day.

  • A header alert ribbon for time-sensitive notices such as harvest schedule changes, weather delays, and equipment downtime.
  • A welcome hero with five link tiles to the tools staff use most – the Tasting Room Booking System, Wine Club Member Portal, Cellar Inventory Tracker, Hospitality Resources, and Marketing Asset Library.
  • Winery news with a featured story and recent updates – a new vintage bottled, a harvest safety reminder, a lab team spotlight, and a vineyard drone program.
  • An Events calendar for sustainability workshops, wine and jazz nights, harvest celebration dinners, and all-hands kickoff meetings.
  • Quick Links to the Vendor and Supplier List, Maintenance Request Form, SOP and Compliance Library, and HR Policies and Employee Directory.
  • A Wine of the Month spotlight with tasting notes, next to an important message celebrating a gold medal at a regional wine competition.
  • An Employee of the Month card recognizing a member of the vineyard operations team, plus an image gallery of vineyard, cellar, and tasting room moments.
  • Harvest and weather changes reach every picker, cellar hand, and tasting room host at once through the alert ribbon, not a chain of texts.
  • Tasting room bookings, wine club lists, and cellar inventory are one click from the homepage, so staff stop hunting for logins and links.
  • Vineyard, cellar, hospitality, and office teams work from the same news and calendar, even when they are spread across the estate.
  • SOPs, compliance documents, supplier details, and maintenance requests live in one trusted place during the busiest weeks of the year.
  • Wine of the Month, award news, and Employee of the Month keep the craft and the people behind it visible to the whole winery.
  • Seasonal and hourly staff find what they need on their phone, without having to ask a manager.
  • Because it is built entirely out of the box, it is easy to maintain and keeps working through Microsoft updates.

Common Questions About This Winery Intranet

What is this Winery Intranet built with?

It is built with standard SharePoint web parts only – News, Events, Image, Image Gallery, and Text – finished with a custom theme, custom fonts, a header, flexible sections, and audience targeting. There is no custom code, no custom development, and no third-party tools of any kind. This is the kind of clean, maintainable intranet Greg Zelfond builds for wineries, breweries, and other food and beverage producers.

What is included on the Winery Intranet homepage?

The homepage opens with a harvest alert ribbon and a welcome hero with link tiles to the Tasting Room Booking System, Wine Club Member Portal, Cellar Inventory Tracker, Hospitality Resources, and Marketing Asset Library. Below that sit winery news, an Events calendar, Quick Links to suppliers, maintenance requests, SOPs, and HR, a Wine of the Month, an award announcement, an Employee of the Month, and an image gallery.

Does this design use any custom code or third-party tools?

No. Everything on the page is native SharePoint, configured rather than coded. That matters because an out-of-the-box intranet is stable, secure, and easy for your own staff to maintain, and nothing breaks when Microsoft ships an update. There is no developer to call and no licence to renew. Out-of-the-box is the only way Greg builds.

Can this design be customized for our winery?

Absolutely. The colors, fonts, logo, photography, link tiles, and section labels are all tailored to your brand. Greg adapts the layout to the way your estate actually runs – your vineyard blocks and harvest calendar, your tasting room and wine club programs, the compliance documents your team works from, and the systems you already use for bookings, inventory, and point of sale.

Will this Winery Intranet work on mobile devices?

Yes. Because it uses native SharePoint sections and web parts, the page reflows automatically on a phone or tablet and works in the SharePoint mobile app with no separate build. That matters for a winery, where vineyard crews, cellar hands, and tasting room hosts spend the day in the rows, on the crush pad, or with guests rather than at a desk.

Can Greg build this Winery Intranet for our company?

Yes – this is exactly the kind of work Greg Zelfond does. As an independent SharePoint consultant and Microsoft MVP, he designs and builds out-of-the-box intranets like this one for wineries, breweries, distilleries, and other food and beverage producers, then trains your staff to keep them current.
